Laser Hair Removal

You must start with the LHR Initial Consultation. Your skin needs to be in its most natural state so no sun, no tanning, no tanning beds, no self tanner, no shaving, no waxing, no tweezing, and/or no hair removal/depilatory cream used within 4- weeks of initial consultation. During the initial consultation we will go over your skin and hair type to determine if you’re a good candidate for LHR. You’ll also be able to review all of your consultation forms, pick out your LHR treatment packages, take before photos, and go over any questions or concerns that you may have about the service.

Patch Test. A patch test will be performed during the initial consultation to ensure that your skin is ready to receive the LHR services. A patch test is where a small section of your desired treatment area will be cleansed, shaved, and the laser will be used to determine your skin’s readiness.

Preparing Your Skin for Treatments. No sun exposure for at least 2 weeks, prior to your treatment. Stay hydrated, drink plenty of water and keep your skin moisturized. Remember that we do not want you to destroy your hair follicles so shaving is the only method allowed during this process to remove hair. Additionally, please shave the treatment area(s) the day before or on the day of your appointment. Also please shower prior to your appointment time. Remember not to wear any perfumes, lotions, or deodorant the day of treatment. Once again your skin needs to be in its most natural state during this entire LHR process, so no sun, no tanning, no tanning beds, no self tanner, no waxing, no tweezing, and no hair removal/depilatory cream should be used until all LHR sessions are completed.

It’s normal for your skin to feel slightly tender, very much like a mild sunburn.

Must use SPF at all times on treated areas that will be exposed to the sun before and after treatments.

Mild bruising is also possible, however if the bruises are large, or if there is any scabbing, dark marks, or burn boils please contact us immediately!

How should I prepare for LHR? No waxing, tweezing, or hair removal cream used within 4-weeks of treatment. Your skin needs to be in its most natural state and skin tone so no sun, no tanning, no tanning beds, no self tanner. You can shave! In fact, we require you to shave the day before or the day of your treatment. Come in for your treatment with clean skin no lotions, deodorant, or make up.

Can I tan and still get LHR? No! Your skin will burn if you are tanning or in the sun for a prolonged period of time. LHR is a commitment, so it is best that you take on the service when you can commit to not altering your skin in anyway.

Can I wax and still get LHR? No, the LHR laser is seeking to destroy your hair follicles. Waxing removes hair follicles temporarily, therefore making the LHR Laser unable to locate and destroy the necessary follicles. You should shave only in between LHR treatments. Of course, eventually you will notice that you no longer need to shave or do any hair removal procedure with your skin as the outcome with LHR treatments is permanent hair removal.

Can LHR lasers burn me? Yes, LHR lasers can burn you, however this is only a risk for those that are exposing themselves to too much sun, tanning, tanning beds, and self tanners. These should all be avoided while going through your LHR treatments.

Is LHR safe for dark skin? Yes! Our LHR machine works on all skin tones and is precise enough to target the hair follicle while eliminating hair at the root without damaging your skin. Even the darkest of skin tones can be treated successfully.

Does LHR work for Blonde, Grey, or Red hair? Our lasers usually do, but your hair cannot be bleached blonde, or platinum blonde, as long as there is some pigment in the hair for the laser to capture, LHR should work. The best way to determine if it will work for your hair type is to come in for the initial consultation and patch test. If your hair is too light to work we will let you know.

What does LHR feel like? Remember pain is beauty! However, when compared to waxing, LHR treatments have very little discomfort and is commonly compared to the feeling of a rubber band snap.

How many treatments do I need? Typically 6 treatments, however you could need as many as 10 or more treatments. It depends on the density and color of the hair being treated.

How permanent is LHR? For the vast majority of our clients the hair is gone forever! Most of our clients are 95% - 100% hair free in as little as 6 - 10 sessions. However, hormones, pregnancy, aging and hereditary may cause some hair to come back in the future. Those that do see hair growth coming back report that the hair is a lot finer and lighter, and isn’t witness for 7+ years after the completion of their LHR treatments.

Is LHR safe? Yes! Our lasers are incredibly safe, and you’re treated by our highly trained professionals. We provide eye protection and take all necessary precautions to ensure that your treatments are effective, sanitary, and safe. LHR is a simple procedure and there’s almost no downtime, so you can return to work, apply make up, and be active immediately after your treatments. We only ask that you wear sunscreen to protect the treated area.

Who should not receive LHR Treatments? People who are pregnant, breast-feeding, suffering from bleeding disorders, have severe psoriasis, vitiligo, post chemical peels, taking photo sensitive medication, currently tanning or using sunless tanners, keloid prone scarring skin, tattoos in treatment areas, lesions/open wounds, moles in treatment area, using depilatory cream, epilepsy, and hirsutism.
