Our facials involve deep exfoliation with professional enzyme peels to shed old skin cells and bring new cells to the surface. So it’s not suggested that you get a facial the same day of any major event. Within the next few days following a facial your skin may feel tight and dry, you might see minor flaking, you may have some mild irritation, and your skin may begin to purge any superficial acne; so post facial breakouts are normal. Remember the goal of a facial is to shed and renew skin cells so that Skinphorea Glow may not occur until after this post facial process is complete.
Oxygen facials can cause inflammation because of the intense blasts of oxygen to the face. This can cause skin to look plumped or swollen. Also the serum and oxygen combination may cause your skin to become slightly red, which should fade within a few hours.
You may experience redness or feel like your skin is scraped in the two or three days right after the procedure. Some people compare dermaplaning to having a whisker or razor burn; so some redness, sensitivity, and a small rash may occur. You may notice that your skin looks brighter immediately after you're finished with a dermaplaning treatment, but it often takes a few days to appreciate the full results.
Our acne facials involve deep exfoliation with a series of professional enzyme and chemical peels to shed old skin cells and bring new cells to the surface. Within days following an acne facial your skin will feel tight and dry, you might see flaking, you may have some redness and mild irritation. You also may have minor swelling from intense extractions, and your skin will purge any superficial acne; so post facial breakouts are completely normal. Remember the goal of an acne facial is to purge all bacteria, shed, and renew skin cells so clear skin will not occur until at least 6-8 treatments are completed.
Our back facials involve deep exfoliation with professional enzyme peels to shed old skin cells and bring new cells to the surface. Within the next few days following a back facial your skin may feel tight and dry, you might see minor flaking, you may have some mild irritation, and your skin may begin to purge any superficial acne; so post facial breakouts are normal. It’s also suggest that you wear loose and breathable clothing to prevent further irritation.
Immediately after application it’s common for your eyes to be dry and red, but these symptoms should go away within 1-2 hours. It is recommended that you wait at least 24-hours after application before you get the lashes wet, and wait at least 48-hours before exposing them to steam or saunas. Only use oil-free products when cleaning your eye area, avoid pulling or tugging the lashes, keep the lashes clean, and gently comb through them with a clean and dry mascara brush. Avoid waterproof makeup around the eye area. If you have any severe itchiness, redness, swelling; these are signs of a possible allergic reaction and the lashes should be removed immediately.
After your waxing service you should expect the area to be red, some may experience blood spots due to thick courser hair, and the area may feel tender and tingle. For the first 24-hours after a waxing service, avoid touching or scratching the waxed area, as this can encourage irritation or small pimples. Don’t wear tight clothing for the next few days; wear loose plain cotton clothing, lace or un-breathable materials can irritate the area. Sexual activity should be avoided for at least 24 – 48 hours. Also shaving causes the hairs to become very coarse and can be difficult to wax in the future; so avoid shaving. Keep the waxed area clean, but do not use harsh cleansers or creams for 24-hours post wax. Also no tanning beds, saunas or steam rooms for the next 2-days.
Post-wax the skin around your brows will be red, if you've got sensitive skin, this could last for a few hours. Do not touch your brow area constantly, you could bring bacteria to the area, clogging the pores and increasing the risk of breakouts or infection. Give your skin at least 48-hours to rest, chlorinated or saltwater, steam rooms, saunas, makeup, and extreme sun exposure can irritate the sensitive skin on the brow area after waxing, so avoid it all. Do not tweeze in between appointments! If you chose to get your brows tinted and they look too dark, don't panic, the intensity of the tint will fade quicker than you think.
Wait at least four hours to wash your face. Your skin may feel warm, tight, and look red for 1-3 days. Using a good moisturizer to keep your skin hydrated will help minimize the redness. Avoid taking anti-inflammatory medications, like ibuprofen, for several days, which could interfere with your body's healing process. Your skin will be red after microneedling, and bruising and swelling are very common. Your skin will feel and look different; it might feel rough to the touch for a few days, and you may notice some slight visible marks on your skin. Both of these effects are caused by the microinjuries created by the punctures. As your skin heals, these marks will soon fade and your skin will become smoother than it was before. Within just 12-24 hours, your skin should fade from red to pink and the swelling should go down, though you may experience some sensitivity for up to 48 hours. Wash skin with a gentle cleanser and cool water, and pat dry with your hands. If you received a more aggressive treatment, the redness may linger a bit longer. Peeling will start 3-5 days after treatment and it’s very important that you don’t pick at or scratch your skin. Keep it well moisturized to minimize itching.
After microdermabrasion, your skin will be pink or red, you may have some swelling, and feel dry and tight; comparable to a sunburn or windburn, for about 24-48 hours. However, the redness may last a little longer after a more aggressive treatment. Also minor bruising due to the suction process might occur. During your microdermabrasion recovery time, you will notice immediate improvements. However, optimal results are only visible once you have completed the recommended number of treatments.
The most common occurrence of a chemical peel is peeling skin. You’ll also experience slightly increased sensitivity; while your skin shouldn't feel too sensitive, it will be slightly more sensitive to certain products, like exfoliating scrubs. It is very important that you don’t pick at or scratch your skin. You should avoid exfoliating after any chemical peel treatment to avoid irritation. After a lite chemical peel, treated skin will be red, tight, and possibly swollen. You might also experience a stinging sensation on your face, but these symptoms will fade after a few hours. After a medium chemical peel, treated areas take about 7-14 days to heal, but redness and visibly peeling skin might last for a month. After a deep chemical peel, you'll experience severe peeling skin, redness, swelling, stinging, tightness, and dryness that may last 1-2 months. After any chemical peel it’s common for your skin to breakout during recovery.
